( M– 573) Cameron’s Electro-diagnoso-set c. 1919
American Surgical Specialty Co., Chicago, USA An unusually fresh near mint set in its leather carrying case ( length 15”) The set contains a good range of endoscopic instruments including, in nickelled brass, a curved tongue depressor, mouth gag, ebony handled otoscope with four speculae, and vaginal speculum. All these instruments can be fitted with an attachable small light socket which is present as are three spare bulbs for it. Also in the set are two (out of the original three) ceramic mounted dental illuminated speculae with their detachable bakelite handle. Particularly interesting is that this set allows for alternate sources of power supply. There is a lovely example of Cameron’s Diagnostolight, patent date 1916, for insertion into a light bulb socket. The set can also be supplied from a battery and the original battery is present (expiry date January 13, 1920). The cords of both battery and Diagnostolight are present and mint. |
